Nebraska Project Workshop - OCTOBER 7-10, 2016

Nebraska in the Fall. Gorgeous weather. Incredible views. This is one of my favorite times to visit this area. The leaves are starting to change. The full bounty of the plains shines through. Bison. Tall grass prairies. This is America’s last frontier.  We will wake up before sunrise. Great coffee at the ready.  All day with nothing to do but explore visually and create. Campfire dinners, and local musicians. All night time-lapse experiences for those who are interested.

We will have cabins along the Platte River and tents at a wonderful location in the Sandhills. You’ll be able to choose the experiences you want.  Those that want to sleep outside can spend a night or two in tents far from city lights.  It will be primitive camping, with the night skies free of light pollution making it absolutely worth it.

Part of our team will spend all three nights at the cabins for those who don't want to rough it. Bill will be sleeping outside, creating time-lapses and enjoying the night skies. For him waking up with fresh dew on the tent flap, breathing the crisp morning air, is the finest simple pleasure of this complex life.

There will be classes on creating video with DSLR cameras, gathering audio in the field, making powerful still images and creating compelling time-lapse sequences. Each day, there will be mentoring and critiques to help refine your skills. We will also spend time working together on post production. During out past workshops, this was a favorite time for the attendees as we reflected on the day's adventures, shared stories and the images, videos and time-lapses we were most proud of.

At the end of the workshop, we will choose images for inclusion in the Nebraska Project — a tribute to the State of Nebraska’s 150th Birthday celebration for anyone that wants to contribute.

Join us for a long weekend in and around the Sandhills. It will be a life and photographic experience you will never forget.

When: October 7-10.  The workshop officially ends at sundown on October 10, but we will be staying there until noon on the October 11 so you can depart at your leisure.
