Lady's First: 2009 Preakness Stakes
The Preakness Stakes is the second of three races in the Triple Crown Tournament. The 2009 stakes was special because jockey Calvin Borel, who won the 135th Kentucky Derby on Mine That Bird, decided to leave the Derby winner in favor of the filly Rachel Alexandra. His decision turned the focus off of Mine That Bird's Triple Crown bid and onto the boys vs. girl competition. Rachel Alexandra became the first filly to win the race since 1924.
