Cranes are some of the oldest creatures on Earth. Their imagery is found in many mystic traditions over the last millennia, from Asia to the Americas. The sandhill crane is one of the furthest traveling of the crane species, starting their journey in parts of Mexico and South America and migrating north to Canada and Siberia. Each year, these cranes travel through one small part of the Platte River in Nebraska. This video explores that section of a very long migration.
